Counselling is a journey of self discovery.
There are so many reasons why people seek counselling, and yet one word for me encompasses them all. That word is ‘feelings’.
Feeling invisible, overwhelmed by past or present events, sad, angry, low, anxious; the list goes on.
I will not only listen, I will hear what you are saying, and feeling. I will help you to overcome your fears, regrets, sadness, loneliness. Whatever it may be, I will support you as you find your way to achieving the changes you so desire and to move forward in your own unique way.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked for more than twenty years in the education sector. I supported children, young people and their families as they navigated the many challenges which relationships, life events and certain situations can bring. My background includes working with children and young people experiencing attachment issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Currently I also provide counselling and psychotherapy for both young people and adults in third sector settings. I support clients experiencing a wide range of issues including managing anxious thoughts and feelings, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, low self-worth, anger, resentment, bereavement, loss, depression, long term health issues, carer responsibilities, stress and childhood experiences.
